Algorithms & Signs. Conversation with Frieder Nake on the Presence of the Computer
Event in German.
For more than six decades, Frieder Nake has dealt with the presence of the computer: at the intersections between computer science, semiotics, art and cultural theory – in language and code, with texts and images. The publication of the anthology “Algorithms & Signs”, which brings together his diverse contributions in one book for the first time, is the occasion to invite Frieder Nake to Potsdam. We want to negotiate both the historical development and the present of what is so difficult to grasp under the catchword “digitization” together with Frieder Nake in a panel and an audience discussion.
With contributions from Prof. Dr. Jan Distelmeyer (University of Applied Sciences Potsdam/ University of Potsdam), Dr. Sophie Ehrmanntraut (Bundesakademie für Sicherheitspolitik), and Prof. Boris Müller (University of Applied Sciences Potsdam).
The event will take place at the ZeM. Please note the general information on events of the University of Potsdam. Wearing masks inside the venue is mandatory (preferably FFP2).
We look forward to welcoming you at the ZeM and ask for your prior registration at .
