Kateryna Tykhonenko
Kateryna Tykhonenko (she/he) is a Ukrainian-born media scholar, researcher and independent curator. Her current research focuses on the exploration of peripheries and the connections between technologies and environmental changes. She studied art history in the Kyiv Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture.
Kateryna is the co-founder of the art magazine VONO and the conference series Upper Layers of Earth. She was also part of the curatorial team at Mystetskyi Arsenal (Kyiv) and authored the publication Informal Art of Uzhhorod in the 1990s.
Kateryna Tykhonenko is a graduate student in European Media Studies at the University of Potsdam and the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences, and co-organized the graduate workshop Navigating Control of Loss. In October 2024, she joined the ZeM team as a research assistant.
